DIGITAL WISDOM WINS "EDDY" FOR MOUNTAIN HIGH MAPS 2.1 AT MACWORLD

TAPPAHANNOCK, VA (January 13, 1997)—MacUser Magazine announced Digital Wisdom as the winner of its 1996 Editor's Choice Award for Best New Graphics Resource at a live ceremony at Macworld in San Francisco. The EDDY award recognizes the best Macintosh hardware and software products and the winners are selected based on their technological innovation, quality, performance, user friendliness and value to computer users.

Mountain High Maps 2.1 is a map-making resource used by graphic designers, desktop and electronic publishers, and multimedia producers who require high-resolution images of the earth and its regions. The software is produced on CD-ROM for both Macintosh and Windows platforms.

Mountain High Maps 2.1 should be recognizable to those familiar with both televised and print weather forecasts from The Weather Channel and CNN. Other Mountain High Map users include: American Airlines, British Airways, The Boston Globe, U.S. News & World Report, and feature films including "Mission Impossible" and soon-to-be-released "The Saint."

Digital Wisdom was presented with the award by MacUser's editor-in-chief, Pamela Pfiffner. Other category award winners included: Apple Computer, Adobe, Microsoft and Macromedia.

Chairman of Digital Wisdom Publishing Ltd, (Cambridge UK) Alastair Campbell, and the President of Digital Wisdom Inc., (Tappahannock Virginia USA) David Broad, proudly display the coveted EDDY award statuette after the awards ceremony in San Francisco.

With offices in Virginia and Cambridge, England, Digital Wisdom was founded in 1992 to bring to the electronic publishing world the results of one of the most painstaking, comprehensive, and difficult projects of map-making. This project, the conversion of detailed survey data into extraordinary detailed dramatic relief maps of the world's land and ocean features, took over 20 man-years of work by a team of cartographers and modeling artists. Digital Wisdom has now converted this data into a digital format, and added geopolitical and other man-made features to produce the Mountain High Maps family of products.
